RYSS Data Quality Department

  • The Data Quality Department provides support, training and management of all student information required by local, state and federal guidelines.    Our goal is to ensure all student and staff data reported to the state meets with TEA guidelines and procedures as required by the PEIMS submission of information through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) via the Texas Student Data System (TSDS).  The TSDS, Ascender and PEIMS are monitored and supported through the Region 4 Education Service Center (ESC).

    The department reviews information needed for the student cumulative folders and is in charge of maintaining active and inactive cumulative folders for each student as well as monitoring student attendance guidelines.

    Our department also ensures all school guidelines are in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines as required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other government agencies as requested by law.

    The Data Quality Department is in charge of submitting all required data through the Public Education Information Management System/Core collections required by TEA.  The PEIMS collections include: Fall PEIMS, Mid-Year PEIMS, Summer PEIMS and Extended Year PEIMS. Core Collections include: Classroom Roster, Early Childhood Data System – PreKinder and Kinder, Residential Facility Tracker, State Performance Plan Indicator 14, Special Education Language Acquisition, Child Find and Charter School Waitlist.
