Hello! My name is JP Cortez and I am proud to be a founding teacher here at RYSS NESTEM! This is my 14th year in education and I have served as a teacher, instructional technologist, teacher specialist, and assistant principal in my educational career. 

In our class we will learn how technology shapes our everyday lives. To begin, we will learn how to be good digital citizens and stay safe while on the internet. We will learn how to use technology for school as well as how to create art, music, and games. We will cover how to use other digital learning platforms for school, and we will explore the world of coding! We will learn the basics of how computers work and work our way up to learning how to control ariel drones and program basic video games. We will learn the basics of digital media and how we can take a vacation around the world with out every leaving the classroom!
