Welcome to 4th Grade!!!

      Welcome back to another exciting school year 2017-2018!!!  First of all, I want to thank you for entrusting the care of your child to me. My name is Laura Velasquez and I am thrilled to be your child’s 4^th grade teacher as we journey together to achieve success and reach our fullest potential.

      I am a true believer that ALL children are capable of learning!! My main goal as a teacher is to provide an encouraging and supportive environment for the students in my class to help them reach their full potential. I am extremely excited to get to work with you and your child this year!!

      2017-2018 will be my 5^th year at Brownsville Raul Yzaguirre School for Success and also my 5^th year teaching 4^th grade. I am so excited to be part of such a terrific school and to be surrounded by such amazing administration, staff, and students each and every day!!

      I attended the University of Texas at Brownsville (U.T.B.) where I earned an associates degree in Liberal Arts and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood through 6^th Grade as a Bilingual Teacher.

      During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, browsing through Pinterest, and shopping.
