Mr. Esparza

     Welcome to eight grade reading and social studies. My name is Jose G. Esparza. This is my 17^th year of teaching and I can proudly say that I’ve had a very successful and rewarding career teaching different subjects in 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, and now, 8^th grade. It is an honor and pleasure to teach 8th grade Social Studies and Reading again this school year.

     I have high expectations for each student, however I do recognize that all of us learn, create, and express ideas in different ways. Therefore, I teach from the prospective that all of us can learn, though not necessarily learn in the same way. For this reason, I implement a spirit of cooperative learning in my classes where students are challenged with rigorous engaging lessons that spark their higher order thinking skills. I encourage students to think and problem solve on their own as well as cooperatively with others. I understand that it will be a challenge to stay engaged and work cooperatively through distance learning but I am sure that my students are ready for it and will do their best.

     My students are very important to me and I will make sure that they will all learn as much as possible and have a very successful and productive year. I have taken this opportunity to let you know a little about myself and invite you to contact me if I may be of any assistance to you in regards to your child.
