Student Assessments
RYSS District implements State of Texas Assessments to determine student knowledge and mastery. All state assessments are conducted to ensure that students are equipped with any accommodations necessary to ensure student success. RYSS also implements norm-referenced tests as an additional predictor for academic progression. District Testing Policies, Codes and Procedures:
TEA Testing Cell Phone Policy
As per the Texas Education Agency TEA) and the Raul Yzaguirre School for Success, the use of cell phones and other personal electronic devices during testing are not permitted. Students are required to power off all electronic devices before entering the testing site a surrendering the device to the test administrator during testing. Devices that interrupt the testing environment by vibrating, ringing or the like during a live testing environment will be confiscated and the student may risk their test begin VOIDED or NOT SCORED.
During each testing administration students in grades, 4-12 will be required to sign the RYSS Student Election Device Advisory Form to ensure they are clear of the consequences for violation of the cell phone policies.

Honor Statement
High school students taking various EOCs are required to commit to the TEA STAAR Honor Statement found on the answer document as noted in the testing security and integrity policy.
