RYSS Rebrand FAQs

1. What is the purpose of the RYSS rebrand?

The rebrand is part of Tejano Center’s broader effort to create a cohesive, unified brand that reflects our shared mission and values.
→ For RYSS: This means every RYSS school will be clearly recognized as part of a larger, respected organization—helping families understand that RYSS is backed by the resources, leadership, and legacy of Tejano Center.

2. Why is this rebrand happening now?

This rebrand aligns with Tejano Center’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan (Impact 2030!), supporting Priority 3: Brand Awareness—to strengthen visibility and community trust.
→ For RYSS: The rebrand helps position RYSS as a leading public charter school district in Texas, supported by Tejano Center’s full network of education, health, and social service programs.

3. What is changing with the RYSS brand?

• Visual Identity: New logos and designs that align with RYSS (district).

• School Names:

o All campuses will use “RYSS” as the anchor (e.g., RYSS Middle School at Broadway, RYSS Academy at Brownsville).

o Schools will be named by the following criteria – Early Childhood, Primary, Middle School, and Early College, with a few exceptions for “Academies”, which are Grades Kindergarten through 8th.

• Messaging: Unified language that connects our district to Tejano Center through the statement:

“Rooted in Tejano Center. Rising with Tejano Spirit.”
→ For RYSS: Every school will reflect the same pride, quality, and shared purpose under one recognizable brand.

4. What is staying the same?

Our leadership, staff, curriculum, and commitment to excellence remain unchanged.
→ For RYSS: Students will still have the same teachers, the same high-quality education, and the same caring environment—only with a fresh, unified look.

5. What is the tagline?

The RYSS tagline will remain “Start With Us. Grow With Us.”  Note: in our effort to align RYSS and all other programs with Tejano Center, we will use the following in our Rebrand Campaign –

“Tejano is a Spirit. It Lives in All of Us.” (Brand Ethos)

“Rooted in Tejano Center. Rising with Tejano Spirit.” (Campaign Tagline)
This expresses our pride, unity, and resilience as one Tejano Center family.
→ For RYSS: It reminds students that the Tejano Spirit lives in their drive to learn, lead, and give back to their communities.

6. How does the rebrand connect RYSS and Tejano Center?

Many families already interact with Tejano Center programs—like family services, college support, or food access—without realizing they’re connected to RYSS.
→ For RYSS: The rebrand shows families that when they choose RYSS, they’re joining an entire network of opportunities and support designed to help students and families thrive.

12. Will the school’s name or mascot change?

For RYSS: We’re uniting under one district identity while keeping the unique spirit of each campus.

13. Will the uniforms look different?

14. Is this rebrand going to change how teachers teach or how schools are run?

No. The rebrand does not affect academics, school leadership, or teaching methods.
For RYSS: It’s a communication and identity update—not a program or policy change.

15. Does this mean RYSS is becoming part of a new district?

No, RYSS remains the same public charter school district.
For RYSS: The rebrand simply makes clear that RYSS is Tejano Center’s education arm—strengthening the connection, not changing governance.

16. Why is “Tejano” in the new messaging—what does it mean for RYSS students?

“Tejano” represents the spirit, pride, and strength of our community—it’s not just a name; it’s a legacy.
For RYSS: Students learn and lead with the same Tejano Spirit that has shaped generations of resilience, achievement, and service.

17. Will there be new signs or logos at our school?

Yes. New signage, banners, and materials featuring the refreshed RYSS logo will appear gradually through 2026.
For RYSS: Each campus will reflect the unified RYSS identity while honoring its local community character.

18. How can students show their Tejano Spirit during the rebrand?

Students can participate by joining spirit days, creating artwork, sharing stories, and representing RYSS with pride.
For RYSS: The rebrand is about identity and belonging—students are the living example of that spirit in action.

19. Will this change how parents communicate with schools?

No, communication channels remain the same—families will still contact their school offices and teachers directly.
For RYSS: You’ll simply see refreshed branding on letters, emails, and the district website.

20. What does this mean for new families joining RYSS?

New families will immediately see a unified brand and clear connection to Tejano Center’s broader network of support.
For RYSS: It strengthens our recruitment story—showing that every RYSS student is part of something bigger than a single school.
